A site to showcase 48in48, get people excited about the event, and gain supporters.
Not everyone knows what a hackathon is, but most people want to help nonprofits. So, we needed to tell the story of 48in48 in a compelling way that made sense to people unfamiliar with the hackathon concept and encourage them to get involved.
We wanted to start the story with a compelling positioning statement posing the question "What if we could build 48 custom websites for 48 nonprofits... in 48 hours?" Once that gets a user's attention we tell the remainder of the story through the short text and video, build credability through the sponsors section, and finish with the details and a call to action near the bottom of the page.
