If you haven’t attended a WordCamp, you need to. The community is great and is the best networking events for someone that uses WordPress on a regular basis. The one in Atlanta this year, had over 700 tickets sold for the Saturday/Sunday event, and even more for the Friday event (beginner’s day). There are many levels of WordPress users, from beginner to designer to advanced developers. And our team was working with all different levels.
Sideways8 was crazy involved in WordCamp Atlanta 2018. Bret and I (Aaron) were on the organizing team, and we both spoke. Julie and Marty were speakers. Ruben manned the sponsor table with Kristen. Carissa helped set up the table, ordered all of the t-shirts, and all of the stuff I wouldn’t think about bringing (like a lamp for the table). Shout out to Adam who would have been there but he left us to speak at WordCamp London (but who wouldn’t want to do that?).
We, for the first time, sponsored a WordCamp. I think it is one of the best ways to give back to the community. We hung out, talked to the people at the event and gave out around 200 Sideways8 shirts.
I’ve wanted to blog about this for a while, but I keep waiting for the videos of our team speaking before doing so. I’m going to keep this up-to-date so whenever the videos are available on WordPress.tv, I’ll drop in the links.
